BEIJING, Nov 13, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - ("Hanergy Holding" or "Hanergy") is pleased to announce that through its wholly owned subsidiary, Hanergy Investment Limited ("Hanergy Investment"), has further acquired from the market a total of 8 million shares of Hanergy Solar Group Limited ("Hanergy Solar", Stock code: 566. HK ). Hanergy is confident with the future prospects of the PRC and global solar energy industry and believes that there will be considerable growth and development in the solar energy industry in foreseeable future.
In September, Hanergy Solar has acquired the intellectual property rights of two new copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) technologies, namely CIGS thin-film solar power technology of Solibro and MiaSole. On 24 September, Hanergy Solar Launched 120MW Large-Scale Solar Power Plant Projects in Qinghai and Xinjiang. On 30 October, Hanergy Solar acquired the entire equity interests of Columbia Solar Energy, LLC , which is in the course of developing a 19MW AC solar photovoltaic electric generating facility in Pittsburg, California, the United Sates.
Hanergy Solar continues proactive investment in the downstream solar business to obtain a steady and good return. Also, CIGS Thin-film solar modules are becoming much more widely used in BIPV and BAPV projects due to its superior conversion efficiency performance, and also very competitive cost structure.
