| Norwegian IT solution goes "down under" |
Norway, Oct 19, 2010 - (ACN Newswire) - APA Group, Australia's largest transporter of natural gas, has selected Tieto's Energy Components product suite as its gas & customer management solution.

The Energy Components product suite will enhance our service to customers by providing complete functional coverage of APA's gas transmission business, from marketing and sales through to billing and reporting," says APA General Manager Commercial, Rob Wheals.
Energy Components is the world leading system for the administration of production, transport, sales and revenue management for oil, gas and other hydrocarbon products. The solution is recognised as global best practice by major oil and gas companies, and is used by companies such as ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, and Santos.
APA Group (APA) transports more than 50 percent of Australia's natural gas, and owns and operates gas transmission pipelines in every mainland Australian state. "The Energy Components product suite therefore has to manage several thousand transactions every day, comprising a wide diversity of commercial agreements, as well as meet specific regulatory requirements. This all places considerable demands on the flexibility and accuracy of the calculation work," explains Ragnhild Olsen, Vice President for Energy Components in Tieto.
With Energy Components, APA's customers will be able to place their orders for transport of gas directly in the system, which then ensures that the correct volume of natural gas is delivered to the correct destination. The system also calculates prices and dispatches invoices.
