Hawaiian Airlines Ranks Highest for On-Time Performance in July

HONOLULU, Sept 13, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - Hawaiian Airlines, Hawai'i's largest and longest serving airline, scored the highest marks for best on-time performance for the sixth consecutive month this year, and fewest canceled flights among the nation's 16 largest carriers in July, as reported today by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).

Hawaiian Airlines' flights arrived on schedule 94.6 percent of the time throughout July, earning it DOT's #1 ranking for on-time performance. In addition, the DOT reported that Hawaiian Airlines ranked first overall in the category of fewest flight cancellations for July at 0.1 percent, representing four cancellations out of 6,646 total flights.

Hawaiian Airlines provides daily nonstop service to Hawai'i from 11 gateway cities in North America - more cities than any other carrier - using Airbus A330-200 and Boeing 767-300 aircraft, making it the only carrier to offer wide-body, twin-aisle aircraft for all transpacific flights.

Hawai'i's largest and longest-serving carrier is also the leading provider of air service between the islands of Hawai'i.

The DOT's monthly Air Travel Consumer Report ranking the nation's 16 largest air carriers is available online at www.dot.gov/individuals/air-consumer/air-travel-consumer-reports.

About Hawaiian Airlines

Hawaiian has led all U.S. carriers in on-time performance for each of the past nine years (2004-2012) as reported by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Consumer surveys by Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure and Zagat have all ranked Hawaiian the highest of all domestic airlines serving Hawai'i.

Now in its 84th year of continuous service, Hawaiian is Hawai'i's biggest and longest-serving airline, as well as the largest provider of passenger air service from its primary visitor markets on the U.S. mainland. Hawaiian offers nonstop service to Hawai'i from more U.S. gateway cities (11) than any other airline, along with service from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, American Samoa, and Tahiti. New nonstop service will begin between Honolulu and Beijing, China in April 2014, subject to government approvals. Hawaiian also provides approximately 160 jet flights daily between the Hawaiian Islands.
