CommunicAsia2009 Launches its First Mobile Site; Visitors with Webkit-based Browsers on Their Phones to get Show Information on the Go

Singapore, May 4, 2009 - (ACN Newswire) - CommunicAsia, Asia's largest infocomm exhibition launched a mobile site, allowing attendees easy access to information on the go before and during the show. Created using Blueprint, Yahoo!'s mobile development platform, the CommunicAsia2009 mobile site presents information in a format that is specifically designed for mobile phones. Some key features on the site include daily news updates of the show, event highlights, shuttle bus services, programme timings and locations, floor plans and more. Mobile users can now key in http://go.communicasia.com* into the web browser on their mobile device to start accessing information about CommunicAsia2009.

"We are excited about using this mobile platform to provide the latest updates and information of CommunicAsia2009. Many of the exhibitors and visitors to the event are internet and technology savvy professionals who are on the go, 24/7, and we believe that this value-added service will enhance the overall experience of these attendees by providing them with information that will help them make the best use of their time at CommunicAsia," said Victor Wong, Project Director for CommunicaAsia from show organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services. "This is also in line with the show objective of being recognised as THE event that is at the forefront of technologies. We have selected Yahoo!'s blueprint as it makes use of a simple and yet powerful language that brings the optimum experience to the users."

Last year, first-time exhibitor, Yahoo! announced several new mobile products and partnerships for Asia at CommunicAsia. The company returns this year and will unveil the next phase in its strategy to deliver mobile products to revolutionise the experience on mobile for consumers, developers, carriers and advertisers.

"The continued participation of market leaders such as Yahoo! at CommunicAsia2009 underlines the industry's view of this event as the definitive business networking platform for infocomm in Asia," added Victor Wong. "Despite the difficult business climate, we are seeing strong support from exhibitors and have met the exhibitor participation target that will ensure a fulfilling and exciting experience for our visitors."

CommunicAsia2009, together with BroadcastAsia2009, is expected to feature about 2,000 exhibiting companies from 65 countries and regions from across the globe, demonstrating the strong demand by companies to expand their footprint in Asia's emerging markets and the importance of the annual exhibitions as networking and sourcing platforms for the global infocomm and media industries. The shows are set to return from 16 - 19 June 2009 at the Singapore Expo.
