| More than 230 Exhibitors, New Fair Record, to Take Part |
HONG KONG, Apr 29, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - More than 230 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions, a new exhibitor record, will take part in the fifth HKTDC Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair, which opens 7 May and continues through 9 May at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Global Participation
Exhibitors will include first-time participation from Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The fair will also present group pavilions representing the Hong Kong Medical and Healthcare Device Industries Association (HKMHDIA); the Shenzhen Association of Medical Devices; the Missouri Department of Economic Development; and the city of Shanghai.
Major brands will include Johnson & Johnson, NEC, and The Amazing Life, this year's biggest fair exhibitor.
Physiotherapy to Tech Prototypes
Featured areas will include: the new Physiotherapy zone; Rehabilitation and Elderly Care, spotlighting patient monitoring systems, orthopaedic equipment and wheelchairs; Hospital Equipment, showcasing electro-medical offerings and medical technology required by hospitals, from ultrasound and imaging equipment to surgical instruments and anaesthetic equipment; and the Tech Exchange, presenting prototypes of medical devices and equipment. The Tech Exchange connects exhibitors with research institutions, product developers and entrepreneurs.
Other product zones will include: Medical Supplies and Disposables, Medical Cosmetology, Manufacturing & Design Solutions, Laboratory Equipment and Building Technology, and Hospital Furniture.
Industry Intelligence
Industry trends and information will also be on offer through a range of business information sessions. These include Buyer Forums spotlighting opportunities in Eastern Europe (7 May) and Southeast Asia (8 May), as well as exhibitor forums on both days.
In addition, a 7 May seminar will examine advanced technology and applications, while a seminar on 8 May looks at industry trends and a 9 May seminar focuses on regulatory updates.
China Spotlight
In addition, the fair will offer a 7 May session on the medical device industry in China, organised by the Hong Kong Health Care Federation, and an 8 May focus on coronary arterial stenting, organised by the Hong Kong Doctors Union.
Hospital Authority Convention
The Hospital Authority Convention will be held during the fair's last two days, featuring more than 90 speakers and some 45 sessions. Special sessions will target China's healthcare, new clinical practices, healthcare policy and medical simulation, along with such clinical topics as respiratory medicine, chronic disease management and end-of-life care.
Buying Missions
The three-day fair will welcome 35 buying missions from 24 countries and regions, counting some 1,000 buyers from about 800 companies.
