Mio Launches Latest Personal Navigation Device with Built-in Digital TV Tuner at Computex 2009

COMPUTEX, Taipei, June 3, 2009 - (ACN Newswire) - When your passengers sleep as you drive, do you feel lonely? Mio, one of the leading makers of PNDs (Portable Navigation Devices), has insightfully launched its first comprehensive range of PNDs with built-in TV tuners Mio Moov V500 and V700 range at Computex Taipei 2009 today. Featuring 4.7" and 7" widescreens respectively, the two devices are expected to bring a new vision to the world of navigation.

As the holiday season approaches, people look for navigation devices to provide, not only excellent navigation features, but also entertainment capabilities that can bring more fun and laughter to everyone in the car. The Moov V series is designed to be the ideal travel companion, providing entertainment for all the family whether they are in the car or outside having a picnic.

Steve Chang, Vice President of Mio Technology Corp. said: "The development of digital TV is already very mature worldwide, but so far the market demands for mobile TV solutions have still to be fulfilled. Building on Mio's success of delivering popular PNDs with TV and entertainment capabilities, the new Moov V500 and V700 are the first of its kind to offer the perfect combination of professional navigation and rich digital TV content at an affordable price."

To deliver the ultimate in navigation and entertainment, the Moov V500 features a portable 4.7" widescreen, and the V700 even offers a generous 7" screen, ideal for weekenders and families alike. The dual antenna enables good video and audio quality. With extensive multimedia functionality, users can also enjoy watching high quality movies, previewing photos, and listening to MP3's with Mio Moov V series.

The two models both are packed with, the newly-developed Mio Spirit navigation software that provides a faster POI keyword searching and a unique "Explore Mode(TM)", which helps users to explore more by displaying surrounding POIs in an intuitive way, so users can find places worth visiting quickly and easily.

For extra POI content Moov V-series users can take advantage of the Google Map "Send-to-GPS" service. Users can search for a business, a POI or an address in Google Maps and send the information directly to their devices for navigating. By clicking the "Send to" link within the Google Map page, users can download the search results to MioMore Desktop 2, the software application for Mio GPS devices, to save it to "My Place" for route planning or map viewing. MioMore Desktop 2 also allows users to download free geo-encoded photos from Flickr(TM) and then transfer them for navigation.

A suite of innovative new features of Mio Spirit is also included - the easy-to-read TruMap(TM) Views, the Junction Views that display 3D signposts and turn indicators, and the Lane Guidance function displays clear lane instructions, offering more confidence for driving.
