Hong Kong Event to Share Decade Milestone with Traditional Medicine |
HONG KONG, Aug 2, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - The 10th edition of the International Conference & Exhibition of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products (ICMCM) will welcome close to 130 exhibitors from eight countries and regions.
Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Modernized Chinese Medicine International Association (MCMIA), the event will run 11-15 August, with the first two days open to trade visitors before public visitors will also be admitted 13-15 August.
Participating countries include Canada, the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. The event also features group pavilions from seven countries and regions including those representing Guizhou, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Jilin, Qinghai and Sichuan on the mainland, as well as Taiwan.
ICMCM Conference
Highlights include the two-day ICMCM Conference to be held with the theme Milestone of Chinese Medicine Development. Sessions on Regulatory Harmonization and Anti-viral & Neuro Treatments will share new insights on the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) as well as compare regulatory practices related to TCM products in places such as Australia, Canada and the United States.
The first day of the event will include the 7th International Postgraduate Symposium on Chinese Medicine. A 10th Anniversary Networking Reception on the second day of the fair will enable participants to exchange ideas and market intelligence.
Forums and Presentations
A two-day Chinese Medicine Health Public Forum will take place under the theme Healthy Life in the Wisdom of Chinese Medicine. The 13-14 August forum will be coordinated by the Hong Kong Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioners Charitable Foundation. An educational display coordinated by the University of Hong Kong will be presented in the Hall 1A Concourse throughout the fair period.
Hong Kong's exports of Chinese medicine were worth HK$2.6 billion in 2010, with shipments bound mainly for the mainland, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan and the United States. In the first six months of 2011, exports of Chinese medicine reached HK$1.4 billion, up 16 per cent over the same period last year.
