NEW YORK, Oct 18, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - Minerals Technologies Inc., (NYSE: MTX) announced today that Thomas J. Meek has been promoted to senior vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary and chief compliance officer.
"This change reflects the level of responsibilities and roles that Tom Meek has undertaken, as well as the leadership he has demonstrated, in improving the overall effectiveness of our Corporate Governance and Legal initiatives since he joined Minerals Technologies," said Joseph C. Mr. Meek joined Minerals Technologies in 2009 from Alcoa Inc., where he served as deputy general counsel. In that position he was chief litigation counsel for all global litigation, claims, governmental investigations and subpoenas. In addition, he also served as Alcoa's global compliance director.
