China, Oct 27, 2011 (ACN) - China's Ministry of Commerce said the rate in large-scale companies using e-commerce application would exceed 80 percent by 2015. The ministry noted in the development guidance for e-commerce industry during the 12th Five Year Plan (2011-2015) that foreign trade value applied e-commerce is seen to reach over 10 percent of China's total foreign trade value by 2015 and online retail sales should be more than 9 percent of the country's total sales of consumer goods.
China's e-commerce transaction value reached 4.5 trillion yuan and online retail sales reached 523.1 billion yuan, accounting for 3.3% of total sales of consumer goods. Additionally, 42.1% of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) used e-commerce as a way to trade or for marketing last year. The ministry pledged to improve the e-commerce industry landscape in the country and encourage development of a service industry facilitated by e-commerce.
