Taipei, Nov 1, 2011 (IRG) - Asustek will be launching 100 branded stores over the next year in India, in line with its aims to be one of the top three players in the country in the next two years. The company currently has a market share of 5 percent in the domestic 4.5-million-unit laptop segment.
In 2012, Asustek also expects to increase India’s sales contribution to 8 percent from the current 5 percent. Asus India, which registered revenues of Rs 800 crore ($162 million) in 2010, had earlier told PTI that it expects to double its revenues to Rs 1,600 crore ($321 million) in 2011. Globally, the company forecasts revenues of $15 billion in 2011 against US$10 billion in the previous year.
