Former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia Presented at the 6th Annual City Development in Chongqing

Chongqing, China, June 6, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - 6th Annual City Development conference took place on the 6th - 8th of June 2012 at the Hilton Chongqing, China. Hon. Brian Howe, AO Chair - Cities Expert Panel, Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Reform Council, Australia and Former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia presented on reshaping our capital cities: Managing population and economic growth through strategic city planning. His topic was on planning and revitalising modern cities to enhance liveability.

The three day agenda included a choice of two streams over the two days and a third day conference Urban Mobility Day. The streams for the first day of conference were Urban Planning & Development and Infrastructure Development & Financing while the streams for second day were Town Planning & Development and Infrastructure Development & Financing.

This event featured an exclusive Urban Mobility Day on the 8th June 2012 which explored the dynamics of sustainable approaches to combating traffic congestion and increasing mobility within cities, addressed the shift towards Transit Oriented Development, financing of urban transportation infrastructure as well as low-energy and low-carbon methods of transportation.
