BARCELONA, Sept 17, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - The Lubrizol Corporation announces that it will participate in the TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) 2013 conference organized by Smithers Rapra in Dusseldorf, Germany on October 17, 2013.
Under its Estane(R) Engineered Polymers platform, Lubrizol has expanded its already broad portfolio of engineered polymer solutions with the integration of Merquinsa legacy aliphatic and bio-based* thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs), commercialized under Pearlcoat(TM), Pearlthane(TM) and Pearlthane(TM) ECO. At Rapra's TPE 2013 conference, Maria Josep Riba, Applications R&D Elastomers EMEAI manager, will present Lubrizol's expanded aliphatic portfolio, which also includes new and improved molding grades.
Within the session "Innovative TPEs for the Consumer Markets," Lubrizol will highlight its recent aliphatic innovations, which have been driven by the increasing demand for light colors or transparency in several technical and fashion applications. A wide variety of end-use applications from the automotive, electronics and industrial sectors require new elastomers to combine the outstanding properties of TPU (such as good abrasion and scratch resistance), while offering excellent color fastness upon UV exposure. New aliphatic Estane resins have been developed to answer these specific needs and provide high performing features like balanced impact and mechanical properties, better thermal stability and chemical resistance, easier processing conditions and outstanding flexibility at lower temperatures, down to -56 degree Celsius.
Lubrizol is more than a leading supplier and manufacturer of polymer solutions; Lubrizol is a proven and trusted partner for its customers. With 50+ years of experience and a worldwide network that includes formulation design, manufacturing, R&D, technical service labs and cutting-edge technologies, Lubrizol helps make its customers' products a bit more amazing. Lubrizol's extensive polymer portfolio includes resins that can be bio-based*, recyclable**, light stable, flame retardant, solvent-free, adhesive breathable or chemically resistant.
Lubrizol Engineered Polymers are highly versatile, easy-to-process polymers that can be utilized in film and sheet, extrusion, blow molding, injection molding, over molding, calendaring and solution coating processes for industrial, sports and recreation and electronics applications.
Additionally, Lubrizol will be highlighting other unique engineered polymer technologies at K show in Dusseldorf, Germany. For more information, stop by K 2013: Hall 6/Stand #C10 from October 16 to 23, or visit www.lubrizol.com/engineeredpolymers or www.merquinsa.com.
