Sound Global Receives Approval for Expansion of its Tongliao Project

HONG KONG, Aug 27, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - Sound Global Ltd. ("Sound Global", or the "Company"; Hong Kong Stock Code: 967) is pleased to announce that the expansion of Sound Global's urban sewage treatment plant in Tongliao City has been approved. The expansion will bring an additional sewage treatment capacity of 50,000 tonnes per day to the project, and the aggregate investment is approximately RMB100 million, for a concession period of 30 years.

The urban sewage treatment plant in Tongliao City, established in 2007, is equipped with a sewage treatment capacity of 100,000 tonnes per day, with the quality of water discharged designed to meet Class I A standard as set out in the Discharge Standards on Pollutants from Urban Sewage Treatment Plants(GB18918-2002). Given the fast expanding urban size going with the urbanization process, the urban population has seen a rapid growth, as a result, the volume of discharged urban sewage has been increasing year by year. Upon the completion of the expansion, the urban sewage treatment plant in Tongliao City will be equipped with a sewage treatment capacity of 150,000 tonnes per day. The expansion has been approved by the Municipal Government of Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia, and construction is expected to commence in September.

The construction of the urban sewage treatment project in Tongliao City would largely improve the environment of the urban area, and contributed a lot to the protection of the quality of water of the Western Liao River.
