Optiqua Technologies establishes Research Centre at PUB's WaterHub

SIWW, Singapore, June 24, 2009 - (ACN Newswire) - Optiqua Technologies Pte Ltd, the Singapore-based provider of state-of-the-art optical biosensor solutions for the international water industry, announced that it will establish its new Research Centre at national water agency PUB's WaterHub, a one-stop platform for technology, learning and networking.

The announcement was made in conjunction with the Singapore International Water Week 2009, a global platform for water solutions.

The new research centre will facilitate Optiqua's research and product development activities, supporting a range of product launches scheduled for the end of 2009 and 2010 including its on-line network monitoring solution EventLab, and an on-line real-time detection system for microbial contaminations.

Melchior van Wijlen, CEO of Optiqua Technologies said, "We are very pleased with our move to PUB's WaterHub. It will enable us to expand our research and product development activities substantially, while providing access to a high-profile community of water research organisations and state-of-the-art facilities."

Optiqua will move to its new research facilities in September 2009.

Mr Harry Seah, Director of PUB's Technology and Water Quality office said, "PUB and Optiqua have always enjoyed a good working relationship on our existing joint research programmes and collaborations. Optiqua's new research centre at WaterHub will not only strengthen this relationship, it will also add to the growing R&D sector in Singapore."
