HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics and Lighting Fairs to Open this month
New Products and Exhibitors Coming to Hong Kong

HONG KONG, Oct 6, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - A trio of major trade fairs will bring the latest innovations in the electronics and lighting industries to Hong Kong this October. The 34th HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and the 18th electronicAsia will run concurrently at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 13-16 October.

HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics and Lighting Fairs to Open this month

The 16th edition of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition), which is also organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will feature more than 2,500 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions at the HKCEC from 27-30 October.

Electronics Fair

The Hong Kong Electronics Fair and electronicAsia feature around 4,100 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions, representing the world's largest electronics marketplace. This year, the Electronics Fair will welcome a company from Bulgaria for the first time. Also debuting at the fair are the new 3D Printing and Wearable Electronics zones. The Hall of Fame continues to be a popular feature of the fair, spotlighting over 480 leading brands and stylish products including HP, Motorola, Oregon Scientific and VTech, as well as first-time participation by Ford and GP Batteries.

Wearable Electronics E-magazine

Riding on the wave of wearable electronics, an e-magazine featuring Wearable Electronics is being launched to spotlight innovative products while keeping buyers abreast of the very latest market news.

New Dimensions

Among the innovative products at the fair, a number of wearable devices promote personal well-being by monitoring the wearer's activity, calorie-burning and heart-rate levels. Smart healthcare products are also in focus with new devices that monitor weight loss and blood pressure and ease pain. Another overarching theme at the fair is 3D technology with exhibitors featuring the latest 3D printing technology.

electronicAsia

Jointly organised by the HKTDC and MMI Asia Pte Ltd, electronicAsia will launch a new Printed Circuit Board zone at the event this year. Other highlights of electronicAsia include: World of Display Technology; Key Components for Smart Devices zone; World of Solar; and the Hong Kong Metal Parts & Components Pavilion.

Industry Focus

Various high-level information-sharing events will take place during the fair period. The 10th Asian Electronics Forum is a highlight of this year's fair with a strong line-up of speakers from the Chinese mainland, Japan and Taiwan. Elsewhere, Buyer Forums focus on the theme of "Opportunities in Emerging Markets" with the spotlight on Argentina and Poland on 13 October followed by the Middle East and Brazil on 15 October. On the topic of product development, the Hong Kong Electronic Industry Summit takes the theme of "Latest Trend of Robotics Industry".

Networking Opportunities

Several networking events are scheduled during the fair period, including the Joint Networking Reception and HKEIA (Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association) Award Presentation 2014 to be held on the first day (13 October).

Lighting Fair

This year, the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) showcases more than 2,500 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions, including Lithuania, Mexico, and Portugal participating for the first time. Introducing the latest technology, concepts and design for lighting products, there are various product zones including LED & Green Lighting, Smart Lighting & Solutions and the Advertising Lighting zone.

The Hall of Aurora returns with over 490 reputable worldwide brands' lighting collections, including CREE, MEGAMAN, Neo-neon, Panasonic and Philips.

A series of seminars will be organised, covering the prospects for the global lighting market, the latest standards and requirements for LED products, Hong Kong's accredited testing and certification service for the industry, and the latest trends and business opportunities in various markets. Additionally, "My Favourite Lighting Products Award 2014" continues this year, with three categories: Architectural/Commercial Lighting, Decorative Household Lighting, and Outdoor Lighting. The award ceremony will be held during the Networking Reception on the first day (27 Oct), while the winning products will be displayed at Hall 1A throughout the fair period.
