NEC Included in "FTSE4Good Index Series" for 14th consecutive year

TOKYO, Sept 12, 2015 - (JCN Newswire) - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) today announced its inclusion in the "FTSE4Good Index Series" for the 14th consecutive year. The FTSE4Good Index Series is one of the representative SRI (Socially Responsible Investment) indices in the world, and it influences the behavior of investors who focus on the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities of each company.

NEC Included in "FTSE4Good Index Series"

Constituents of the FTSE4Good Index Series are selected by the UK-based FTSE Russell(1) from 2,500 potential constituents. As of June 2015, 802 companies satisfied the requirements of the FTSE ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) Advisory Committee.

In the most recent index series, NEC received the highest evaluation in the areas of "Corporate Governance" and "Pollution & Resources."

As for Corporate Governance, NEC continued to improve and strengthen its organization through such measures as increasing the number of Outside Directors and the establishment of a Nomination and Compensation Committee to assure the transparency and soundness of its management. As for the environment, NEC established its "Environmental Management Action Plan 2017/2030" and a new environmental management target from 2014 that aims to "contribute to a five time reduction in overall CO2 emissions from NEC's entire supply chain by fiscal 2020," and is actively engaged in activities for lowering environmental impact.
