An Extra Dose of Southern Hospitality with Morganfield's(R) New App

KUALA LUMPUR, June 1, 2016 - (ACN Newswire) - In response to the fast-moving lifestyle of today's consumers, Morganfield's(R) has launched its very own mobile application. With an aim to offer greater convenience, the mobile application will allow consumers to keep updated on new developments at Morganfield's(R), further engage with the brand and be rewarded for their visits to Morganfield's(R). Most importantly, the mobile application will allow customers to reserve a table online, eliminating the hassle of phone reservations or waiting lines.

Speaking at the grand launch of the mobile application, Dr Jeffrey Goh Sim Ik, Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Morganfield's(R), explained that the development of the mobile application was driven by the increasing usage of smartphones in Malaysia, especially in urban areas. "Currently, approximately 80% of Malaysians own a smartphone and with this, comes the need for mobility and accessibility. Via the Morganfield's(R) mobile application, our customers will be able to make online reservations, keep up to-date with new promotions and even earn rewards. The application is also user-friendly, as we use QR codes so consumers can easily collect or redeem rewards."

"We are a relatively young company, but already we have tens of thousands of fans on social media, so we certainly recognise the importance of technology in our business. Guests today want to be part of the conversation, and be able to 'communicate' with the brand from their smartphones. With this application, we are able to engage with our customers and connect with them on a personal level."

Launched across all outlets in Malaysia on 16 May 2016, the mobile application allows customers to access the restaurant's full list of outlets, browse through the menu and prices, rate their overall experience in Morganfield's(R) and link to the brand's social media platforms. To-date, more than 5,000 consumers have downloaded the application, showcasing its potential in becoming a successful platform to engage consumers.

In an effort to reward loyal customers, guests will be able to collect Food Rewards by spending RM100 in a single receipt per visit (one stamp) to redeem various food items, beers and exclusive merchandise, including a free Ribs Sampl3r Platter worth RM219.90 (15 stamps).

"As a player in the F&B industry, we are required to communicate regularly with our consumers, so that we can better understand their needs and wants for us to better improve ourselves. Given this backdrop, we felt that it was important that we were fully involved in the development of the application. To achieve this, we decided to create the application in-house by establishing InfoMechanics Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary company, with employees with strong F&B industry background with the capabilities to understand consumer's needs and wants and to create a mobile application from start to finish."

"To-date, we have invested some RM150,000 in the development of the mobile application over the past 12 months. We expect to invest even more in further enhancing the application to keep up with the ever-changing needs and wants of consumers. For example, we will be adding more rewards systems for birthday celebrations and set lunches. We will also be introducing an interactive rewards system which will allow dine-in consumers who have downloaded the application to redeem free vouchers upon hearing the Morganfield's(R) jingle which will be played randomly throughout the day," Dr Jeffrey Goh concluded.

The Morganfield's(R) Malaysia mobile application can be downloaded from either Google Play or the Apple App Store. Upon downloading, customers will receive an instant RM20 voucher and unlock many other great features and rewards. The mobile application is currently available only in Malaysia, with plans to release in Singapore, China and Philippines where Morganfield's(R) are currently located.
