NEC Selected by TV GLOBO for the Demonstration of Live 8K Terrestrial Transmission

TOKYO, Aug 19, 2016 - (JCN Newswire) - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) today announced its selection by TV GLOBO as a technical partner for the construction of a live 8K terrestrial broadcasting system to be trialed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from August 5 to 21.

TV GLOBO's live 8K(1) terrestrial broadcast trial features high- definition transmission that exceeds both Full HD(2) and 4K(3), while providing an advanced super-high definition experience for viewers. NEC is contributing to this trial with sophisticated digital broadcasting transmission technology and industry know-how that it has accumulated through a history of valuable field experience.
