ASX-SGX Merger Proposal Application Lodged with Australian FIRB

SINGAPORE, Mar 11, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - The Board of Directors of Singapore Exchange Limited ("SGX") is pleased to announce that it has today lodged a formal application to the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board about the proposed merger of SGX and ASX Limited ("ASX").

ASX and SGX have also amended the Merger Implementation Agreement entered into on 25 October 2010 to the extent required to reflect the new governance arrangements announced on 15 February 2011.

SGX and ASX will make market announcements and update shareholders as approval processes are cleared, and also on the schedule for shareholder meetings and merger implementation.
