Hong Kong Film Industry Ready to Shine at Cannes 2012
Largest Hong Kong Pavilion, Screenings at Marche du Film

HONG KONG, May 10, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - Hong Kong film industry leaders will exhibit their latest cinematic projects at March du Film, the world's largest film market, which is part of the concurrent 65th Festival de Cannes (Cannes Film Festival), running 16-25 May.

Hong Kong on the Riviera

The largest Hong Kong Pavilion ever to take part in March du Film will showcase new cinematic products from 11 Hong Kong companies. The Hong Kong Pavilion at the trade event's Riviera section will include exhibits by All Rights Entertainment Ltd, Edko Films Ltd, Film Asia Entertainment Group Co Ltd, Gold Harbour International Films Ltd, Fortune Star Entertainment (HK) Ltd, Golden Scene Co Ltd, Mega-Vision Pictures Ltd, Star Alliance Movies (HK) Co Ltd, T-Films Ltd and Universe Films Distribution Co Ltd, and Why Entertainment Co Ltd.

Another 11 Hong Kong companies will show their latest offerings at individual stands: Asia Geographic Entertainment, Distribution Workshop, Emperor Motion Pictures, Easternlight Films, Fortissimo Films, Golden Network Asia Ltd, Media Asia Group, Mei Ah Entertainment Group Ltd, Pad International (Producers Alliance for Distribution), Pegasus Motion Pictures Distribution Ltd and We Distribution.

Other highlights of Hong Kong's presence at Cannes 2012 will include several film screening at March du Film, 16 to 20 May, including the international award-winning A Simple Life, and Flying Swords of Dragon Gate, Motorway, Naked Soldier, Nightfall, The Great Magician, The Viral Factor, and an animation feature called Yugo & Lala.

Hong Kong at the International Village

A Hong Kong business centre will be set up at the International Village, offering registered participants from Hong Kong free business facilities and a venue for their business meetings and media interviews.

Two "Dim Sum Hour" sessions will be held at the business centre, 18 and 19 May, offering additional networking opportunities for invited film industry professionals participating in the events.

Last year's March du Film on the French Riviera attracted more than 600 exhibitors and 10,000 participants, representing about 4,500 companies from 99 countries.

FILMART 2013

The Hong Kong Pavilion in Cannes will also seek to attract leading filmmakers and industry players to the HKTDC Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART). The most recent event held in March set new attendance records, with more than 640 exhibitors from 33 countries and regions, and nearly 5,800 visitors from 53 countries and regions.

The Hong Kong Pavilion at Cannes is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) with the support of CreateHK.
