Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria to Start JCB Merchant Acquiring in Spain

Madrid & Tokyo, Mar 13, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), a major international financial group, is starting JCB merchant acquiring operations in Spain based on a license agreement with JCB International (JCBI), the international operations subsidiary of JCB, the only global payment brand based in Japan. BBVA will start facilitating JCB acceptance at BBVA-acquired merchants throughout Spain.

BBVA will now be able to serve its merchants better by offering them the opportunity to capture JCB card sales along with other global payment brands as well as helping merchants give customers the opportunity to pay with their preferred card.

BBVA facilitation of JCB card acceptance at its merchants will significantly increase JCB brand coverage in Spain. JCBI will also work even more closely with its other partners in the region to improve JCB card acceptance and to expand the issuing business, providing more convenience and services to JCB cardmembers from around the world.
