Pacific Conferences Runs Its 8th Crisis & Social Media Workshop in Singapore & Hong Kong
Proven Strategies on Effective Management of Traditional and Social Media Crises in the Digital Age

SINGAPORE, July 16, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - Every organisation is vulnerable to crises, regardless of the activities involved. As social media is getting a larger voice in the way brands present and communicate themselves, it draws together a number of potentially damaging events that require innovative damage control strategies. With that, companies have to equip themselves with a holistic crisis management approach with specially dedicated efforts for social media area.

According to Phillip Raskin, Senior Communications Consultant, "An unanticipated crisis can do more damage to your organisation in less time than almost any business action, and that these crises on the communication side are happening more and more frequently, all thanks to the spread, speed and access to a wide array of available information. In short, if you're not planning or anticipating, you're reacting, and that's a bad place to be." There needs to be well-prepared crisis prevention guidelines for the company to quickly control the issue and recover from the situation.

In an effort to educate industry professionals on step-by-step strategies to master the techniques in handling crises, from both traditional to digital, Pacific Conferences has organised its eighth 2-day workshop on Crisis & Social Media that will be held in Hong Kong and Singapore on 12-13 September 2013 and 19-20 September 2013 respectively; and it will be led by Raskin who has spent nearly 20 years in the communication field with a dozen years in agency roles throughout Asia, Europe and the U.S.

With a focus on the issues of social media risks, devising a game plan, decision making under fire, dos and don'ts in social media practice, internal and external communication, monitoring and managing the crisis, messaging, anticipation and deadling with aftershocks, and finally, rebuilding brands' trust, Raskin will advise on building a solid crisis management framework, from planning to activation and recovery, and how companies can take their learning forward to the next crisis. Practical and relevant case studies and exercises are also included to zoom in on scenarios from various industries such as airline/aviation, government, manufacturing, industrial/chemical, finance, consumer electronics, technology and more.
