Pacific Conferences Equips Personal Assistants and Executive Assistants to Help their Bosses Achieve Business Goals
Advancing Personal Assistants & Executive Assistants from Business Support to Strategic Partner

SINGAPORE, Jan 15, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - Gone are the old clichs of Executive Assistants (EAs) and Personal Assistants (PAs) only doing clerical work and answering calls. EAs and PAs are increasingly accepted as one of the management team, a strategic business partner to meet company objectives. However, with this status comes the need for EAs and PAs to possess advanced technical and soft skills to operate in a demanding business environment of reduced budgets and challenging efficiency targets.

First, it is imperative that EAs and PAs acquire powerful time management practices to overcome the challenges of increasing workloads in a fast-paced business environment. It is also critical that EAs and PAs are able to communicate effectively with finesse, confidence and impact. EAs and PAs are not only the first point of contact with key internal and external personnel, but as they increasingly take over project responsibilities from their bosses, EAs and PAs must be equipped with public speaking skills to deliver ideas with confidence and impact.

An excellent EA and PA must also possess strong team leadership skills, to not only be able to collaborate effectively with others but also engage, motivate and inspire their teams. The ability of an EA and PA to manage conflicts is also crucial to build a high-performing team and to demonstrate assertiveness when dealing with challenge situations and behaviours in the office.

To achieve professional competence as an EA and PA, soft skills must be complemented with hard skills. As technology rapidly develops, together with the increasing dominance of social media, EAs and PAs must keep abreast with software solutions that enhance work efficiency and productivity. EAs and PAs must also possess project management skills to overcome the constraints of time, resources and budget to achieve project objectives.

To equip modern EAs and PAs with the essential skill sets and capabilities to transit from business support to strategic business partner, Pacific Conferences has organised a 2-day practical workshop on "Effective PAs & Executive Assistants", to be held in Hong Kong from 24-25 February 2014, Singapore from 27-28 February 2014, and Kuala Lumpur from 3-4 March 2014. It will provide the latest tools, advanced techniques and best practices to enhance the skills of EAs and PAs in time management, communication, project management, self-management, team leadership, conflict management, professional development, I.T. and public speaking.

This workshop is led by Lindsay Taylor, a highly dynamic trainer recognised in UK for delivering the fun and experiential "Be a PA with PA Perfect Awareness" workshop. With more than 10 years experience as a former PA and Executive Assistant in the UK and USA, Lindsay has first-hand knowledge of the diverse skill sets required of an excellent PA and the day-to-day challenges that are inevitably faced.
